Sunday: 2 Bell Races

Officially the best Marathon in UK voted by Runnersworld Magazine 2014.

The sixth running of the Giants Head Marathon in the beautiful village of Sydling St.Nicholas. A very, very challenging hilly but beautiful course running through the Sydling and Cerne valleys running around and under the famous Cerne Giant.

Bell Races return on Sunday morning for some fun family friendly challenges, raising money for the village church.

Entertainment

We have a BEER TENT and camping and a Hog Roast and an after party this year and pre race pasta party AND the ice cream van will return. We spoil you!

The village Hall hosts the Barn Dance on Saturday night.

Accommodation    

Camping is available for the Races in our exclusive ‘athletes village for £10 for the weekend. Bookings can be made in the FullonSport WSR shop on nearer to race date.

Fun Bell Race – Sun 24th June 10:00am

We will be hosting 2 Bell Races, this race is more Fun and Family Friendly.

Race costs £7 and should be paid for in cash when you collect your race numbers from the village hall.

Sunday 24th June 10am is a 3km fun run starting on the village green at Sydling St.Nicholas. This race is aid of the village church in Sydling to help keep it running (hence the name). Just a bit of fun like Invader Chaos open to any age. No times just register, and expect the unexpected. All finishers will get a unique Cow bell medal.

Now the difference is you get your medal only when you reach the top of the hill and do a task set by Lord badger and team at the top. Then, run down the hill with your medal clonking away like a proper Alpine Cow. Prize for first bloke and first lady.

The Ladies of Sydling will have the village hall open for teas, coffees and toast pre and post race.

Advanced Bell Race – Sun 24th June 9:00am

We will be hosting 2 Bell Races and this race is for more advanced runners up for a challenge.

Please note its a bit tougher than the other race.

Race costs £7 and should be paid for in cash when you collect your race numbers from the village hall.
