2018 Season

Welcome to 2018 White Star Season, with Larmer Tree a tremendous success we wanted to let you in on the latest news for this year.

Up next is Bad Cow over 28/29th April, with a few spaces left in each race so enter before it’s too late https://whitestarrunning.co.uk/bad-cow/  Because the lovely team at Burnbake host this event they know what great people we have at our events and are offering you 10% off bookings for their amazing Tipi Village this summer, when you mention White Star Running.

Running for one month in August 2018 at Cleavel Point, a beautiful location with plenty of running routes around or even cycling if you fancy getting on 2 wheels.

Open between Friday 3 August 2018 to Friday 31 August 2018, Camp Cleavel Tipi Village offers a totally unplugged, get-away-from-it-all experience. Hidden in beautiful Dorset countryside, it is a stunning, secluded location in which to relax with incredible views over the southernmost tip of Poole Harbour and its’ islands.

So get a group of mates together and see what exciting things you can get up to this summer http://www.burnbake.com/campsite/cleavel-tented-village

Dorchester Marathon and Casterbridge Half on Sunday 27th May set to be even bigger and better than last year. Some great bands, beautiful road running scenery and on site camping, what more could you ask for? Entries are still open but won’t be for long http://dorchestermarathon.co.uk/

Transfer deadlines are also approaching fast as entries may be deferred toward a future WSR event within the same calendar year up until Sunday 8th April 2018. Entries may be transferred to another runner up until Sunday 6th May 2018.

Ever injured/supporting and still want to get your WSR fix? We always welcome volunteers to help out at races and can guarantee you’ll have a good time. If you ever find yourself coming to an event and not running please let us know you want to help out as we can always do with more support and marshals to help make our events great and enjoyable for all.

Dorchester Marathon being our biggest event, takes a lot of marshals to make it possible and we are holding a Big Marshal Get-together on Monday 26th March at Dorchester Rugby Club (Coburg Road, Dorchester DT1 2HX) at 7.00pm to celebrate our 2017 success, announce which 36 charities and good causes have been awarded a share of the profits, and outline our plans for the 2018 Marathon.  Piddle Valley Brewery is kindly offering a free drink for all marshals and potential marshals attending and we hope that you will be part of the Team in 2018!  If you wish to join us on the 26th please register on  https://dmmarshals2018.eventbrite.co.uk to let us know who is coming and obtain your tickets for a free drink. If you can’t make the 26th March and wish to marshal, please let us know on [email protected]

New for this year Summer Session in August a weekend of running in the gorgeous Moreton which will be opening soon, watch this space https://whitestarrunning.co.uk/summer-sessions/  This is a tester event for the location for a brand new 24hr Frolic in 2019 which will launch in May and is set to be something like no other 24hr event.

Another new event added to this year’s calendar is the Chase races, a marathon and half Marathon in beautiful Six Penny Handley – https://whitestarrunning.co.uk/chase/

Along with the new Crafty Fox they both make an appearance in the new Wyvern series a mix of marathons and half’s or if you fancy mixing it up you can, it includes:

Invader marathons and half

Crafty Fox marathon and half

Chase half and chase marathons

There will be winner’s prizes for the series, so you will have to do all half’s or all marathons not a mix, if you are in it to win it as it were.
We are also doing club prizes for first running club or group in half and marathon series.

Prizes will be won on Running club position not the individual runners so its all about the team and not the one person as it were

Camping is an enormous success at our races. We are ever grateful to farmers and venues for the use of their fields. The campsites are huge and right in the centre of the race, a short walk from the start/finish and registration. At fantastic value of £15 for a pitch for the weekend, you can be at the heart of the action. Book online here https://www.fullonsport.com/event/weekend-camping-for-a-wsr-event-2018/profile

The Team have been working hard on getting the Online shop up and ready for you. We know how much you love our quirky gear and don’t always want to buy it at events or carry cash. So following Bad Cow the online shop will be available for you to shop to your hearts content.
