Dorset is a beautiful county. It has many redeeming features: great scenery, amazing food and drink, and a lively music scene!
Black Sheep are a traditional English band specialising in Barn Dances and Ceilidhs. So, the idea is that you dance following the instructions of the caller to live (loud) music.
If you stayed after Dorchester Marathon or Giants Head Marathon, you’ll know what it’s like! Frenetic, fast and fun. It’s a great way to unwind with a drink post race.
We first met the band at a Poole Runners do, and we’ve had them at our races as a fixture ever since. At Giants Head Marathon the villagers join us too, and you can’t tell runner from local.
We do like a Barn Dance, and if you’re camping or running it’s completely free to join us for the after party.
