Before we start our 2022 race season, we just wanted to update you with our plans around the current Covid situation, which is vastly different to what we were having to deal with and put in place last year!
Covid is here to stay for the long term, and we’re all learning to adapt to new ways of living. We introduced some different ways of operating last year and are planning to keep some of those key adaptations to continue to operate safe events.
We wanted to provide reassurance that we recognise it’s still a consideration when you sign up to events. We have explained before that our deadlines are set to enable us to prepare everything that needs to be done for race day: Deadline days – White Star Running. Dates are displayed on the event page of the WSR website and is set typically a few weeks before the event.
For 2022, if the deadline passes and you’re unable to attend the race because you test positive for Covid or get injured, we will let you complete the race virtually and send you your medals and goodies. You just need to email the team on [email protected] before or over race weekend to let us know you are a DNS (Did not start).
We hope this small gesture shows our continued ‘runner focus’ to all of our events.
