We are really excited and pleased to announce that we have been named a finalist in the Dorset Tourism Awards (Tourism Awards – South West) for Run Jurassic 2019!
Later this month we find out if we place Gold, Silver or Bronze in our category of ‘Tourism Event/Festival of the Year’.
Run Jurassic 2019 was the first year we ran this event and despite day two being called off due to extreme weather conditions, the first day of racing was a complete success. This event was really important to us and we were honoured to partner with the Jurassic Coast Trust to pull off a great race.
As the official Jurassic Coast Running Festival, there was so much more to this event than just really good running routes. We wanted to help raise awareness of the importance of looking after the gorgeous coastline that we’re lucky to have access to here in Dorset.
We couldn’t have done this without the team at JCT who are an absolute joy to work with and who provided a great range of resources and on-site activities to educate our runners and their families about the Jurassic Coast.
Thank you once again to Jurassic Coast Trust for choosing White Star Running to work with and put on this event weekend. Run Jurassic was called off completely in 2020 due to Covid, but we’re already planning a great event in September 2021.
We’re working on this hard behind the scenes, but with a reduced team at the moment, we haven’t updated all of the details on the website quite yet. Entries will be open soon (and if you had a place for 2020, that will be rolled over automatically). Watch this space.
