Imperial Series

The Imperial Series started 4 years ago to bring together three 10-mile races in Dorset from three different race organisers. The last two years have been hit by Covid and wild weather, but we hope that next year will go to plan!

10 miles is a great distance, but one that isn’t shouted about enough. And Dorset has some great examples of why it’s such a good race distance, and is why the Imperial Series exists.

In normal times, the three 10-mile events take place in February/March, and they all offer something different:

First, Lytchett 10 offers you a countryside road route that has some challenging ups and some lovely long downs. They also give you cake at the end, so what’s not to love?

Then Bournemouth 10 is your seaside option, running along the coast, and is a good one for pushing yourself for that PB.

Finally there’s our very own Larmer 10, which gives you 10 (ish) miles of mud and hills and trails. Usually with rain and wind too.

For those runners who challenge themselves to run all three, there is a bespoke bonus medal! Plus, a leaderboard with prizes available too.

It’s all gone a bit bumpy over the last couple of years with so many things going wrong, but the Imperial Series is due to be back for 2022!
